Shelford Primary School aims to provide the very best education possible for our students in a safe, secure and happy environment. School staff, parents, students and community, work together to develop broad thinkers who can apply their skills, attitudes, values and knowledge in a changing world.

Shelford Primary was established in 1866, and is located in the rural township of Shelford, 40 km from Geelong.

The school values, philosophy and vision……

We understand that the best outcomes are achieved when there is a strong relationship between home and school. As such, the school seeks to maintain a strong sense of community through an ‘open door’ policy, good communication, whole school and community events which build the connection between parents, teachers and classrooms.

The school enjoys a high level of parental support and involvement, which promotes student engagement and positive behaviors.
Shelford Primary School strives to provide a welcoming, inclusive and safe learning environment where all children feel they belong.
We seek to meet the needs of all students, including their learning, social and emotional needs.

We aim to engage every student by providing a comprehensive program in all key learning areas and opportunities to pursue areas of interest. This includes participation in our specialist programs (Art, Science, Physical Education and French), various sporting competitions,

A quality camping program in Grades 3-6 in association with other local primary schools.

The use of Learning Technologies to engage students is another feature of our school. All classrooms have electronic whiteboards and our ratio of of computers to students is 1:1.

We always aim to provide our students with classrooms and grounds that are interesting, stimulating and presented with pride.
In recent times we have made a number of improvements to the school’s playground, including the creation of animal enclosures and decorative bollards in the school garden.

Establishing whole school approaches to the way we work is priority at our school and this includes the way we care for and nurture our students.

Although our school is small in size it is huge in the care and ultimate education for each and every student.

Our door is always open and we welcome new students each and every day.
